tutorial #5: how to create an action

So let’s say you have to/want to color a bunch of pictures you would take every single one and do what you want in photoshop, well for example before even coloring my caps I have to convert to layer, resize, sharpen etc and yes it’s really easy but when you do a lot of images can be time consuming and boring. That’s when the actions can be really helpful cause they basically do all the work for you in a couple of seconds and with this tutorial I’ll show you how to create one

Let’s talk about the action window first (if you can’t see it just go to window->actions)

going from left to right in the we have:

  • the stop button that will pause or stop the recording
  • the recond button
  • the play button
  • the create new set button
  • the create new action button
  • and delete

creating an action is really simple you just have to press on create new action, name it as you want and then press record and once you have you do the steps you want to apply to every picture

in my case I will : convert the background, sharpen, resize, sharpen again, add a black layer on the bottom

and when I’m done doing this I just hit the stop button and that’s hit, now everytime I want to do those things I just have to open the image, select the action and press play :D

now you could do an action for everything you want to, even coloring and such, basically they’re like psds in a way

this pretty much covers it but if you have any doubt or questions don’t esitate to send me a message I’ll reply as soon as I can <3
