How to convert videos

fuckyeahcolourings:

I have a mac, so I don’t know if this is different for other people, but basically all I do is I downloaded a program called “any video converter” x It actually works wonders. All you have to do is install it, then download your video. Usually it opens up in the program but if it doesn’t, all you have to do is go to the file (usually in your downloads), left click and find “open in”. After that, click on the “any video converter” icon. It should open. Then set it to convert to mp4.

This is the easiest format to work with in photoshop. You don’t have to convert your videos if you download all mp4 files but sometimes it’s helpful to have the video converter incase you accidentally download an avi or something which gets messy with photoshop.

You do NOT need to buy anything for this. If it prompts you to buy, just say no. (: This is a huge help for me, so I hope it helps you too.

Here’s a really easy tutorial on how to get Photoshop CS6 Extended for free!

Okay so let me just start off by saying this tutorial is NOT mine. I found it on youtube, [right here], tweaked it a bit and put it on tumblr due to the lack of photoshop downloads for macs! Anyways, enjoy! :-)

STEP ONE
First, you have to go to adobe.com/downloads. Here chose Photoshop CS6 EXTENDED and click “try”

It will redirect you to another page and click DOWNLOAD NOW
STEP THREE
An application called “Adobe Download Assistant” will pop up. You have to sign/make an Adobe ID acc (it’ll take like 2 seconds)
STEP FOUR
Then, go under “All products” and change it “show me: select product” to “design”. Photoshop CS6 should then be an option to download!
STEP FIVE**
Then while it’s downloading, DOWNLOAD THIS FILE.
STEP SIX
Once the trial of PS finishes and you have downloaded the mediafire file, go to downloads.
There, you should find this folder:

Open it and inside will be two items. Right click on this folder and copy it:

STEP EIGHT
Then go to your applications folder. Inside locate the Photoshop CS6 folder

STEP NINE
Inside the folder, right click on Photoshop CS6 Extendedakjshdfj

Then select “show package contents”Inside there will be multiple folders but open the one that says frameworks ->
FINAL STEP
Inside the folder, paste the copied file. I believe a message will pop up saying if you would like to replace it. Agree!
AND VOILA, photoshop works. There is no “dates remaining” etc. It opens perfectly! OKAY I HOPE YOU ALL UNDERSTOOD THIS. ENJOY :-)

TUTORIAL for Mac - Converting videos with VLC/making gifs with avi video

I just found out how to do this so hopefully it works for you guys too! I use a mac but this should work on windows too!

1) Firstly, open up VLC Player, and then open up your video.

2) Once your video is open go to File > Streaming/Exporting Wizard

3) Select Transcode/Save to file and press next

4) Make sure you select your video from ‘existing’ or load it from ‘Select a stream’ once you’ve done that click next

5) I usually ignore this part and just click next but if you want to tweak it a bit then select the options you want.

6) After this select the format you want, I would use mp4 or .mov for photoshop, but select which one is appropriate for you and hit next.

7) Once you’ve chosen where to save your video, make sure the Local playback box is ticked and press next.

8) This shows you all of the options you’ve selected etc so just press finish.

9) now this is sort of the tricky part to explain, whatever bit is currently being played or ‘streamed’ will be converted into the format you selected, whether it is the whole clip, or just section, if you want just a section make sure you skip to that section and let it play over the part that you want converted.

10) Once you’ve selected all the bits you want, quit VLC Player and open up your video in the finder and you’re done! It should be in mp4/whatever format you’ve selected and it should have converted the section that you wanted.

This also converts .avi to mp4/mov for gif making in photoshop and the quality isn’t lost! If you have any questions message me!
